HealthRite began with the vision of Dr. Bruce Forciea and Dr. Kevin McCabe in
1997 in the old Bartoloth clinic across the street. The two doctors had been in
practice together since 1993 at a West Allis clinic with another partner and decided
to relocate to Wauwatosa where they both lived with their families.

The old clinic had been in operation since the 1950's and was a very unusual place.
Dr. Bartoloth started his practice there by putting an addition on the building which
was a duplex. He lived there with his family in the upstairs unit and treated patients
in the downstairs clinic. He treated patients anytime and it was common for patients
visit the clinic seven days a week. The Bartoloth's later moved to a nearby house.
Dr. Bartoloth passed away in 1997.

Dr. Forciea discovered the clinic was for sale and he and Dr. McCabe decided to
relocate their practices there. The clinic contained some very old equipment and
was rich in chiropractic history.  In the 1950's chiropractors could still be jailed for
practicing medicine without a license! One day while removing wall paper in the
waiting room Dr. Forciea was shocked to see a date written in paint under the wall
paper. What was shocking was that it was Dr. Forciea's birthday and the date on
the wall was Dr. Forciea's year of birth! Some of the original posters and equipment
can be seen in the new HealthRite clinic.

The two doctors enjoyed practicing in such a healing space but soon outgrew the
facility. They needed some of the modern amenities such as central air conditioning
and updated electrical service! In 2001 they moved the practice across the street
and completed an extensive remodeling job. The new practice also included an
extensive rehab center containing a complete gym and computerized testing
equipment.

In 2002 Dr. Forciea decided to fulfill a dream of becoming a college instructor and
accepted a position to teach anatomy and physiology at Moraine Park Technical
College. He continued to see a large volume of patients in addition to the full-time
teaching position. The demands of both prompted his decision to sell his share of
the practice. He did so in 2003.

Shortly after Dr. Forciea left Dr. McCabe became ill with colon cancer. Despite a
valiant battle with the disease he passed away in 2004. Since then the clinic fell into
disrepair with the situation ending in bankruptcy. After over a year of the bankruptcy
court controlling the practice, Dr. Forciea finally regained control of what was left of
it. He decided to reopen it again under the name of HealthRite to continue the
healing tradition. The clinic reopened in May 2006 with the hope of continuing the
over 50 years of chiropractic healing that began with Dr. Bartoloth.

The clinic is devoted to the many joyful memories of Dr. Kevin McCabe.
